It was in 2005.and after that in 2006, he started to play in international matches. P Kashyap was the semi finalist in Dutch Open in 2008 and in 2009 he was the runner up at Thailand International Championship. His highest world ranking was six on March 2013 and currently in 17th position. He was won the Arjun Award in 2012 after his entrance in 2012 Olympics Quarter Final. He was the first Indian men who reached in Olympic quarter final.
